NMS and GE Healthcare to Partner

NMSI and GE Healthcare to Partner on the Build of 45 Hospitals in Africa, funded by UK Export Finance

·       New hospitals to help widen access to healthcare in Ivory Coast, Zambia, and Zimbabwe

·       NMSI will lead on the construction of the hospitals and GE Healthcare will be the lead technology provider

·       UK Export Finance will provide funding, as part of an initiative to boost UK exports into critical infrastructure projects in Africa

·       This project builds on a successful history between the partners covering more than 100 completed hospitals in the region

NMSI and GE Healthcare have signed an agreement to jointly develop more than 45 hospitals, spanning Ivory Coast, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. 

The partners will work on complementary aspects of each project: NMSI will lead on projects involving a majority of construction work, with responsibility for design, construction, project management, financing, and installation; and GE Healthcare will lead where the majority of the project involves equipment supply.  The majority of the projects are funded by UKEF as well as other regional and global financial institutions.

The partners will cooperate on the design and build of six new greenfield hospitals in Ivory Coast, five new greenfield hospitals in Zambia, and 35 hospitals in Zimbabwe.
