Overview

NMSI has established a collaborative force of innovators to deliver full design/build/equip/train and support services for the development of locally appropriate healthcare infrastructure. NMSI brings to bear the expertise of award-winning experts in the field to provide the latest in innovation and design. 

NMSI is currently delivering:

  1. Six new 120-bed district hospitals and 7 multi-storey apartment blocks for staff accommodation at the existing Takoradi-European Hospital in Ghana, under a $175 million contract with the Ministry of Health

  2. Five 80-bed District Hospitals and 115 x 21-bed Mini Hospitals in Zambia, under a $300 million contract with the Ministry of Health

  3. Four new Regional and two General Hospitals in Cote d’Ivoire with a combined total of 640 beds under a €326 million contract with the Ministry of Health

  4. Five 60-bed District Hospitals and 30 x 22-bed Health Centres in Zimbabwe under a $210 million contract with the Ministry of Health & Child Care

Project success is assured by the creation of a highly organised and structured plan of action, developing a safety plan, analysing work and patient area flows and phasing work to minimise disruption of existing healthcare operations and ensure smooth transition of new systems. 

Working across disciplines and cultures, NMSI brings together a broad range of skills to provide a correlation between design and health outcomes.

Our design makes optimum use of locally sourced materials and labour in an effort to deliver sustainable design, as well as to stimulate the local economy.  
 
This approach paves the way for design innovation that produces improvements in overall layout, patient and staff flow, natural ventilation and a reduction in airborne diseases. 
 
Designers, technicians and doctors are brought into the process to provide communities with the most appropriate environments and healthcare systems to ensure long-term project success and sustainability. 
 
Warranty management, training and maintenance are structured into bespoke programmes to provide healthcare improvement and optimisation of facilties.
