NMS presents at Commonwealth Business Forum 2022
NMSI hosted a panel discussion at the Commonwealth Business Forum, as part of CHOGM 2022 (Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting) held from 21-24 June in Kigali, Rwanda.
The event was chaired by Oliver Everett, CEO of the Commonwealth Business Forum and moderated by Frederik Hsu, Chairman of NMS Infrastructure, with the panel comprising: Hon. Fred Bwino Kyakulaga, Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry & Fisheries of Uganda (MAAIF); Lord Popat, Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Rwanda and Uganda; Hon. Gen. David Kasura Kyomukama, Permanent Secretary of MAAIF; David Burton, Director of Agriculture, Department for International Trade in Africa; and Nicholas Oliver, Head of BD & Project Support, NMSI.
The discussion on ‘Sustainable Agriculture Investment in Africa’, focused on sustainability in agriculture and showcased a national agriculture investment project which will have demonstrable benefits for the people of Uganda. The project, to be supported by UK Export Finance, outlines Uganda’s vision for agriculture for the creation of wealth and jobs in the agriculture sector. It aims to raise standards and increase the quality of regional and international exports.
The event, held at the Serena Hotel Kigali, was well attended with distinguished guests including Hon. Okaasai Sidronius Opolot, Minister of Energy & Mineral Development, Uganda; Hon. Barbara Rwodzi, Minister of Environment, Climate Change Tourism & Hospitality Industry, Zimbabwe; Hon. Dr. David Musabayana, Minister for Foreign Affairs & International Trade, Zimbabwe; and John Humphrey, HM Trade Commissioner for Africa in attendance. culminated in the signature of an agreement and the presentation of technical documentation between NMSI and MAAIF.
