NMS signs MOU with Ghana RFU
Ghana Rugby Football Union has entered into an MOU with UK company, NMS Infrastructure Limited, for the provision of long term support for the Ghana national rugby team.
The agreement, which was signed at a ceremony held at The Living Room in East Legon, Accra. The ceremony was attended by a group of NMS partner companies, including Campbell Reith, Deacon & Jones, Hoare Lea, Stirling Business Partners, TP Bennett and Wardell Armstrong from the UK; all of whom pledged their support for the initiative.
The immediate effect of the agreement will be the provision of professional rugby team kit for the national squad (for the forthcoming Confederation of African Rugby international rugby union tournament in Niger in June) as well as a part-time assistant coach and a visiting coach from the UK.
Longer term, NMSI will support Ghana RFU in developing a national rugby centre at University of Ghana, Legon and identify a national team coach.
“Our group is pleased to partner with Ghana RFU in this way to provide support for the Ghana RFU to enable the national squad to represent their country at international level” said Frederik Hsu, Deputy Chairman of NMS.
The President of Ghana RFU, Gifty Annan Myers, said: “I am delighted with this pledge for much-needed support”. She continued: “NMS shares our vision for the future of rugby in Ghana and we look forward to NMS joining with us as a long term partner committed to developing the sport at club and national level”.
